We are pleased to say we are once again using Blade kites in the school and for personal use. We have gone for a mix of Triggers and Vertigos and have sizes from 5m to 14m. The 2009 kit saw 2 seasons of use and some is still going strong. Kitesurf warehouse came up trumps again providing great service for the school and has looked after our clients who chose to purchase Blade kites after lessons.
Gary Powell, owner and Senior Instructor of North West Kitesurfing is in his third year as a BKSA National Trainer. Part of his role involves working alongside other National Trainers ensuring all BKSA approved schools in the UK are working to high standards. This means once again in 2011 NWKS students can be assured the highest standards of teaching at all levels. This alongside some great teaching locations will make your course with us very productive.
The school owner and senior instructor furthered his qualifications by gaining his RYA Safety Boat licence, VHF licence and attended courses for coaching young performers and safeguarding and protecting children. 2011 saw our second BKSA instructor training course this year run by Will Bennett.
We have had a successful year running the X Cat with a 50hp Tohatsu outboard and to get the craft to the water with more ease we have a 400cc quad bike. Many hours have been spent with familiarisation of the new craft and vehicles and procedures have been running smooth for the 2011 season.
We have undergone many improvements including a new 18’x8′ classroom and an additional store with 2 changing rooms and kit store. The adjacent public toilets underwent refurbishment including 4 fresh water showers, available to all NWKS students and visiting water sports enthusiasts.
