One Day Kitesurfing Course

One day kitesurfing course (£95)

Course content:
Wind window theory, risk and site assessment, safety buffer zones, launch and land of kite theory including hand signals.

Trainer kite session. Re-cap hand signals for launch/land. (Session to last as long as it takes the student to become competent) average is 1 hour.

Set up of LEI kites including safety release systems; de-power systems and trimming the kite via pigtails.

Self rescue and pack down demonstration by Instructor and practice by student on land.


Student to set up Lei under supervision, Instructor will demonstrate correct launch procedure, flight characteristics, usage of the bar systems and re-launch from the water.

Student must now master LEI flying and re-launch in knee to waist deep water until proficient.

Perform a body drag in a down wind direction by working the kite in a Figure 8; perform a body drag with both hands on the bar to the right and to the left by holding the kite at 45 degrees.

This course is for up to 6 hours tuition. Additional hours are available at £16 per hour.

Pre-Requisites: No previous experience necessary, ability to swim with confidence.

Achievement: Certification up to level 1, ready to safely continue to level 2.

Once a date has been agreed you will be pencilled in for that date and will be sent a medical form and an invoice for a 20% deposit for your course fee. Once you have completed the medical form and returned it along with your deposit the booking is deemed to be confirmed.
Two days prior to your booking you will be contacted with a weather check and provided with details of the time and place we should meet.
Please Note: NWKS can arrange most things for you, but unfortunately we cannot control the weather. We can teach kiting safely in winds from 12 to 25mph. But should your course fail to go ahead due to lack of or too much wind you will be offered alternative dates – or if you are unable to return, an alternative outdoor activity such as a Zap Cat Blast, Towable Fun, or Wakeboarding.
